The challenge
Line 7 carries export gas 41 km from the platform to shore. The operator’s annual survey needed a vessel, an ROV spread and eleven days of good weather that the Norwegian Sea rarely gives in October.

How we flew it
We launched one K6 from the Kristiansund supply base. It flew the pipeline corridor at 4 knots with the Ridgeline payload, then hovered over each anomaly for a close-up stereo pass.
Tidewire compared the new survey with the 2025 baseline while the vehicle was still in the water.

What we found
The survey took 19 hours of vehicle time and no vessel days. K6 found a 6.4 m free span at KP 12.3 that had opened since the last survey, and the operator had a rock-dump vessel on site nine days later.
